I live in St Ives, Cornwall and am interested in natural history (birds in particular), arts and crafts and photography. I am perfectly happy birding my own little patch which I do totally on foot from the moment I step out my front door. And when I say "my own" I mean it. There is no one else that does it on a regular basis. I never travel to "twitch" birds, the exception being the Snowy owl near Zennor but that was because I really wanted to see a Snowy owl and you could hardly call it travelling. I have no interest in building up a (to me) meaningless life list. The only list that means anything to me is birds I have seen and found myself.
I work at the newly refurbished Leach Pottery and have my own workshop where I make sculpted wooden boxes. Wherever possible I use reclaimed timber but I do have to go to the timber yard occasionally. The only tools I use are a bandsaw, belt sander, occasionally a chisel and lots of hand sanding. They are then sealed and waxed. You can see them by clicking the relevant link above.
